Those 50 FOs is pretty close to the amount of reserves in ORD on the 145 so reserve time could drop to something like 3 or 4 months. It could be quicker because senior FOs will continue to bid reserve because it's much less work than line flying.
So people worried about reserve time shouldn't be too concerned in my opinion. Also there's about 60 145 ORD FOs going for upgrade or moving to NYC within the next few months so the whole current reserve list would have the opportunity to hold a line if they want.

While they can claim "industry leading" 1st year pay. We are still bottom of the barrel on the rest of the years pay. Oh and the schedules suck. Oh and they won't hesitate to put a letter in your file to keep you from flowing. I could go on, but y'all get the idea.

The 8 days he is talking about is referring to the hard limit. They can junior man you down to 8 days off. However any day below 11 a return day is owed by the end of the following month or a 3.9 hour payout if 60k isn't enough for you. As new hires come online the junior man's will drop. They got behind the power curve before offering the bonuses so it is a bit painful now, but it will get better. Everyone knew this was going to happen except the old American President or he just didn't care.
