I can expect to do this sort of thing for a short time when I was a noob but not ten years seniority.

Tell me about it. There have been times that I had to just deny them because the wife wasnt feeling well and not willing to let me work the JM. I hope that doesn't count against me. But if so, I guess that will lead me to a different road. I've worked here with the greatest of integrity and if that's not good enough, we will never be.

Can any Envoy guys explain the "Buddy Pass" setup at the company, and why the new-hire packet has "Buddy Pass" in quotation marks?

You get 12 one way "buddy passes" they are D3 passes is why they are in quotes. They are charged by mileage. A ORD to LGA runs about 53. The priority is below D1 (employee vacation passes), D2 (regular employee travel), D2R and D2P (retirees and parents). if flights are wide open works great if they are getting tight you buddy should prepare for a long sit and wait.

Thanks for the quick reply, man. I'm sure that's a deal that you get used to once you're in there and doing it.

So as an employee, an employee's parent would be classified D2P on a standby list?

Correct and those are unlimited travel.

Well, the HI6 from the company the other day said to expect a rough Dec, Jan, Feb. So, no time soon.

So you're saying there's a chance.

Company is behind the hiring and upgrade curve. They look like they are getting ahead of hiring for March and on, now we need a vacancy to get ahead of the upgrades. So much for front loading captain's.

With how high the failure rate is on the crj for new hires right now, we will need to dump the aircraft. That'll fix staffing in Dics mind.

Smutter 12-15-2016 07:57 AM

Looking at the crj bid packet for January, looks like they forgot to fix the lines. 2 choices, 11 days off 80hrs. Or 12-14 days off at 73 hrs. Doing good DIC, doing good.

Honest question for you Envoy realists on here like Smutter, TrinityDawn, etc.

Is this the worst it's ever been at Envoy? I read about the horrible schedules, abhorrent treatment by management and crew scheduling and the constant junior manning events.

When I was there, at least I worked 4 on 3 off and only got the JM about 3 times total. I was very angry about it on 2 occasions as it hosed my commute. It seems like it's a way of life now.

There's only so much a person can take and if Envoy thinks they are going to keep pilots, then they are really dumb as a box of rocks if they keep treating you guys so badly. At some point, I'm sure people will say, screw the flow and just punch out anywhere.
