Optimistic rumors never come true. There are no "new" bases. The fleet is shrinking. ORD has become a skeleton of its former self in just the past few months. Schedules are horrible and inefficient, with minimum days off and usually only 2 days off in between trips.

Lot's of captains have enjoyed the ability to be home everyday by working in the schoolhouse as instructors. It appears this will end soon.
hahahaha. I don't agree with A LOT the company does (or has done more specifically) but you are severely overreacting. I knew we could count on one of our resident "chicken littles" so come in and tell us how bad this news is.

You apparently don't fly the line, otherwise you might understand how bad it is. I'm sure the schedule is better in the recruiting department.

Have a good day, kind friend.

I'm very much a line pilot, friend. I have serious doubts about you..seeing as how your knowledge of day to day operations is nil.

You know nothing about my knowledge. Everything I have mentioned is a recognized concern of everyday line pilots. But you resort to personal attacks instead of responding to my concerns. The following are facts: low-time 4-on-2-off lines with minimum days off, ORD shrinking, shrinking fleet. Do you disagree with these? Are you aware these are happening?

I think ORD emj had the least amount of 4 on 2 off percentage wise with most 13 or 14 days off. However it has shrunk considerably at the same time.

As far as the PSI yes from a logistics stand point it makes a ton of sense. But it is unfortunate people are going to be losing the opportunity to be a sim instructor. I think it has more to do with no one wanting to go to France for weeks at a time as an instructor so their solution is to outsource.

i don't think that'll be an issue. They're begging for brand new captains and even FOs to be instructors. There's so much turnover with everyone going to AA.

Why are you guys taking concessions like this PSI thing in mid-contract when the market is great for pilots?

I hope you are getting something good for this. You are giving up dozens, and potentially hundreds of sim instructor slots which should be open to your pilots.

As I mentioned in a previous post...AA has always hired PSIs. Just wondering if you were aware of that. Very few-if any- of their instructors have line experience.

I just don't think that is a good argument for changing things at Envoy. AA has PBS too, that doesn't mean we have PBS. AA has 16% 401k doesn't mean we get 16% 401k. Just because AA has something or does something doesn't mean we should do the same.

The point being that AA's training is perfectly fine with PSIs. The guy was questioning the "learning curve" or how this will affect our training environment. The comparison to AA is to show how it works and has worked for years perfectly fine. No more, no less.
