The interactive list does not take into account attrition. It also doesn't take into account the no classes in December thing AA has historically done, either. Or if they slow classes in the summer. So, it can give you a decent ballpark, but I would estimate that it's plus or minus three months for most PP's, and the more junior a pilot is, the greater the variance.

As someone looking to interview with several regionals over the next 30 days, where can I get information like that so I'm more educated prior to the interview?

Also, what's the performance plan bonus? How does one qualify for that?

Nothing too exciting. Just a couple of bucks if the airline hits target on time performance goals each month. $100/month paid out every quarter if the targets are met, which they are most of the time.

Do you mean on time performance? I would maybe rank a few dozen other factors as more important when deciding where to work.

This is true, but I can't help but think the reason we are opening more bases is partially because WE don't take delays. But yes, the bonus and awesome training should be at the forefront when considering employment. If I commuted for reserve, my life would suck.

If this were true, though, then we wouldn't have closed NY and MIA in the first place, and given all of that flying to regionals with demonstrably poorer performance--which is exactly what we did.

I agree that the bonus, training, and flow through are all good. But the bonus is not a reward for good performance. It is an economic necessity to get pilots in the door. They've shown with past behavior that good performance means nothing when they have the leverage to squeeze their employee groups for cuts, even during times of huge profits. Luckily for all of us, they lack that leverage right now.

Yep. I remember those days. Amazing how contrast the culture is to today.

Word of caution, sometimes they do screw up and say that it is OUR duty to determine who gets the seat. This has happened to me multiple times in various airports. Most of the excuses from agents is, "Sorry I had to get the flight out ASAP." Even though I am staring at her during boarding watching their every move. So it does happen but rarely. When it does all you can do is file a complaint with the JS committee with the completed closed non-rev list that shows you and the person who took the JS.
