MEC news blast that came out tonight explains why the bid has been delayed.

While I know this statement was sarcasm, I also know guys hired at Skywest that were 62-63. Envoy (and most other regionals) have calculated the return on training to be roughly 24 months from hire date based on bonus repayment requirements. So if they can get that, based on background, experience and someone thinking they can get through training, they are still going to hire them.

Actually, it's much simpler than that. They can not discriminate based on age.

They also do not say why one didn't pass an interview. To open themselves up to any sort of legal issue there would have to be a pattern of not hiring older pilots. I'm guessing there is an extremely small sample size, which would make it very hard to prove.

Note: I am not saying age discrimination is happening at Envoy. I am saying that the road to legal action if it were ever suspected is not that easy.

If you can't hold a first class medical, you aren't qualified so no, I wouldn't bother applying at 66 since you can't hold a first class medical at 66.
