So I was assigned the 145, when can I transfer to the 175? Upgrade?

Can't transfer to the 175 as an FO unless you are displaced off the 145.

Upgrade time on the 175 is about 18 months. No idea how that's going to shift as deliveries stop and upgrades are no longer to address growth but solely for attrition.

Yes, at ENY FOs cannot transfer between equipment. Only upon upgrade.

Yes. I know everyone drools over the 175, but just enjoy the 145 while you can. I've flown both and the 145 is actually more fun to fly.

I'm still a year away from having the 1500, but a couple friends told me I should bid the RJ or 145 of I want ORD. I'm also mid 40's, so I should have my pick.

If you were coming to class right now, you're being told right but you'd know in class, as you choose the base with the equipment. And yes, I'd think you'd have your pick.

That said, a year from now, it could be completely different so I wouldn't be making plans on airframes right now.
