I think the idea is that with the increased OT pay is that it would encourage captains currently on property to pick up more of the flying such that we would need less new capains. So it’s not intended to attract new captains. Just attacking the problem from another angle.

I think they’re trying to do both at the same time. I don’t think the 300% OT (if it does happen, the post here is the only place I’ve heard about it) is supposed to solve the problem, just ease the problem.

Rumors arrive on a weekly basis here on APC. So many of these “word on the street xxx xxxx xxxxx” these days.
So many people fishing & thirsty for some news. Company very tight lipped, I say we wait patiently. Wasting brain-power, anxious feelings on hearsay that changes weekly is not healthy. Until signed in black ink, until ready for press release by the union, hearsay/speculations are dud.

This is exactly how we got 150% normal OT and 200% critical. The company tried to offer 300% for working vacations, but the union stepped in and said that is outside the contract and worked out the current OT rates in an LOA. It used to be 125% and 150% for critical.

You are missing something. We would all rather see increased pay rates. If the company offering 300% OT (which only positively impacts a few of our captains) helps them avoid raising pay, then obviously it’s a good thing they have to go through the union.

Skywest is also hiring street captains as well. Working on a pay increase over there.

Here at Piedmont we've just recently had 300% taken away from us, and guys are VERY hesitant to pick up work at 200%. Apparently they've tried this before and it didn't work well. It's almost as if 300% is the normal-to-be-expected here now.
