Training time has dropped back to a quick 90 days or so from hire date to being on reserve. Glad to see the ERJ pipeline chugging along at full speed for new hires.
Not a lot of Houston awards for new hires, but the few I've spoken to who got EWR and wanted IAH were able to trade it while still in training.
Have they installed the third ERJ sim at the training center yet?

19-06 seems to be all about IAH.

Hey, I’m not arguing that these threads exist. If there are 20 different threads from 20 different confirmed XJT pilots, that still doesn’t make up the majority of the 1380 at the company. If you want to label an entire group based on your APC interactions, well just imagine if folks labeled your pilot group based on your opinions and contributions to the forum.

Glad to hear it! Just got ORD as a first assignment. I'm curious why they bother issuing a base assignment to a training class just a few weeks before a system bid comes out. Maybe just to quiet the whining from the trainees? People don't seem to get that a base assignment early in training is not a life sentence. But, we can't put in for a trade until we have an assignment, so maybe that is part of it.

The GoJet thing is that they are having their 700s converted to 550s. They aren’t losing airframes and they could gain some. However as more of their 700s come off it opens up scope for us to get more 175s. I don’t see the big deal there. As far as Mesa, if we could staff them I think United would prefer us to fly some of their 175s. Whether that happens or not is out of my control.

Last night I'd say there were about 6-7 open trips today and tomorrow, likely due to commuting disruptions from the weather.
Today the company offered 150% for picking up trips, hoping to avoid cancellations.
Zero open trips now- they are all taken.
Tell me again why it would be in the company's interest to pay us more when this works every time?

Instead we have multiple flights cancelled for "Secondary Flow" the next day after an IROP. This simply means we have no reserves to cover the trip but the IROP the day before is blamed for no staffing. The staffing issue was already there as we are being ran to the bear minimums on a daily basis without any schedule disruptions.
Now we have zero actual reservists available in each base as they've all been used up. So if someone calls out sick, a mechanical happens, etc there's nobody left in the bucket. That's not the way to use reservists. It causes many delays and our numbers show that.
The company would be better suited to throw the red flag the day prior or even a couple days prior when staffing is exceptionally bad. Our new CEO is very adverse to paying any premium pay so this is the result...
