There are approximately 700 Captains. You know them all very well? Wanting out, and actually doing something about getting out, are two totally different things when it comes to attrition expectations.

They should just change the name back to ASA. Soon enough, it’ll be all ASA lifers and people hired since the merge. Very few XJT guys have any interest in staying....by choice.

So interestingly, I looked at the very first E175 bid packet and I noticed there are only 16 active pilots bidding for lines, plus 4 management pilots. There's a huge number listed as ULA, including the top-of-the-list ASA pilots. So it seems like a lot have left or retired.

Maybe they're not yet qualified? But then they probably wouldn't be listed as ULA, they'd be paid off-line.

If they’re paid off-line, that makes sense why they’d bid the higher paying equipment.

I don’t have a dog in the hunt, but time to let bygones be bygones. The XJT side could have told the ASA side to pound sand, but fortunately cooler heads were in charge on both sides and prevailed.
The call sign lives on.

I don’t really care, either. I’m merely pointing out that there are a lot of lifers at ASA, and the XJT guys who USED TO BE lifers.....are trying very hard not to be. I’m ecstatic to not be there anymore, and I’m sure you’re much happier where you are. When all is said and done, I still stand by my original comment. The last month I was there, all I saw were unfamiliar faces with lots of seniority and very little know-how. If things play out as they have every step of this merge, those guys won’t assimilate one bit. They will make it ASA, and the newer guys will adapt. That’s fine. I don’t care. Just an observation.

279 pilots accepted the job offer. Too bad they never stated that only 139 pilots actually showed up and attended class. Looks like the 600 won't happen.
139 in class and the remaining scheduled for future class dates is how I interpret the company and union emails.
