It's only yours until you get too expensive (or difficult to deal with).

If you wander over to the Envoy form they are complaining as much as people are complaining here. They are even crying about Skywest taking 20 175’s that we’re “supposed to be Envoy’s”

My comment had two points.
1) there is nothing about UAX that will be United’s “downfall”. You under-estimate how replaceable you are. So did I, when I worked there. It’s a very common misconception that’s easy to have.
2) working for American sucks less than a regional, but it still sucks. People line up for a flow, because a sure thing is better than getting stuck.....but DAL and UAL don’t need a flow to attract applicants.

If we get DEN I see it being a 145 base UNLESS they move our IAH 175s to DEN. Thats the only way it could work with 25 airplanes. Mesa came in and took our order for the additional 39 175's in 2020. We can't get more 175's unless someone else looses 70 seat flying due to scope. Had we gotten those airplanes I think XJT would have at the very least kept up with their attrition. Now, its back to net losses in pilots. People don't want to come here to fly a 35 year old 145 with no guarantee of a job at United in the future. Aviate is NOT the same thing as the AA flow.

What’s interesting when I talk to DAL pilots and my friends that are at DAL they are jealous of how many wide body jets at UA. UA has more top paying jobs then DAL, profit sharing isn’t a sure thing.
My last trip talking with a DAL crew about progression. I told them I had 16 years left at UA and I will retire as an equivalent as a 767 CA. The new hire FO (same age) will write as a NB CA.
it’s all perspective
