Let me put it this way. United has made it very clear that they intend to shift the 145 to IAH and away from ORD and EWR. They want to increase the 550 presence in those bases.
XJT is a United puppet. The emails we get about the future are just them painting a rosy picture when in fact they only find out what is really going on a short time before we do. Trust me no one at XJT knows what we are doing.
All I am saying is that I believe that some bad news has been handed down to XJT management and that we will find out what it is before too long.

ALL of the pilots at XJT with enough longevity to know are disgruntled. For good reason. I applaud Alpa reps for calling out management for not negotiating in good faith to finish our contract. They broke their promise to us in letter 2.
There are many reasons for us to be disgruntled.

United makes that decision, not XJT. Right now the launch customer is GoJet. The 550 is an experiment and a band aid. United is using the 550 as a tool to get around scope clause limits in the mainline pilot contact. They would prefer to be flying 3 class 175’s but the UAX fleet is already maxed out on those. For now United is trying to see if premium class customer in the north east will accept that product on a regional jet.
The 145 is also a very profitable airframe for United and run 90% full most of the time. Right now XJT has about 65 of them on the line and UA has said they want to 30 more in service for westward expansion.
A few months ago Boeing directed Embraer to develop a new 50 seat RJ. When that comes out it will probably replace the 145.

Shrinking and closing bases isn’t good for pilot recruitment. United/XJT needs to do something to get a handle on things to secure their feed.

The NDA-limited poster has put their name and reputation on the line with the revelation that upcoming news is so bad that they are planning their exit from the company, and feels disloyal for not "spilling the beans" to the entire pilot group.
If nothing materializes, they will have lost credibility for "behind the scenes information". If something does materialize, I'll be surprised that it was not leaked. For now I maintain my belief that this is all standard rumor-mill / psychological warfare.

Umm it’s still an experiment. Delivery only started in the fall and the United doesn’t have a full fiscal year of financial performance on it.
I also never said that XJT would get the new Embraer. I said it would be a replacement for the 145 as in an industry replacement for the 145. Akin to how the 737 and MD80/90’s replaced the 727.
Did you not have to study reading comprehension as a kid?
