So you'd cross a picket line to feed your family. Noted.

I’m still trying to figure out how we had E175s, lost them and ended up in this mess?! One word...Subodh!

You’d let your family starve? Interesting. Not advocating crossing a picket line, however, there are more important things then the union on this earth. And if the union is above your family on list of priorities then I don’t know what to say to you.

While no one wants it and there’s no time to take concessions anyways, it actually makes sense. Worst part is that we’re only in this situation because of a Kirby whipsaw. Also if someone saying XJT should stand strong and die vs taking concessions they have no room if they work at many of the regionals that have weaker contracts/pay.
No, this situation of being entirely eliminated vs downsized is because there is only one aircraft type on property at XJT. Whoever made the brilliant decision to give up the 175s for a larger 145 fleet is precisely where the blame lies in this fiasco!

Same person that has a track record at ATA or had to leave Global Aero. May be just the reason why C5 is saved also.

I'd rely on savings, find work in a different field if necessary, and continue growing vegetables in the garden to feed the family before I voted for concessions or crossed a picket line.

he just doesn't get it. If XJT guys take concessions to get cost below C5 it would be better to just shut down and go to Republic or Skywest. Senior guys advocating for concessions so they can stay senior even if financially they'd be better off starting over someplace else.

Johnny-O strikes again!!!

The reason XJT lost the 175s was mainly due to poor management and Mesa offering UA to buy the 20 new Ejets themselves instead of UA having to front the bill for XJT. When XJT was outmaneuvered and UA was not going to expand that fleet for them they had no choice.

His next move will be to not lease the 20 700s to GoJet that he promised (pre-covid) and convert them himself to 550s. UA will then pull the 550s from GoJet and they will also go to Mesa. Talks were already being made on the last earnings call for Mesa to expand to ORD and EWR with the 550s and the new Ejets will be in IAD.

Say what you want about the man. He seems to always slither his way into great deals.

Sure, downturns happen which could prolong your time at a regional, but to have that many 20 year regional lifers is outrageous.

Oh? You’re saying you have a copy of a document that states what you’re claiming? The plan so to speak? Plenty of former ASA pilots did in fact make a career at ASA. I think we even have some still here way over 30+ years. A pretty good run for them. Just because YOU feel they’re keeping you from advancing or moving On is YOUR problem. You should have been aware of that when you came aboard, whatever airline you’re at. You sound more like an entitled individual, that you deserve more. Why haven’t you moved on if you were so dissatisfied at XJT?
