Manair is a river in India. Maybe this human is from that part of the world and is longing for the old country.

for reference, Republic’s 2019 Q2/3 staffing cost was 271 million. All airlines were awarded 76% of what they requested to spread the 25 billion evenly through all that requested it. So while ExpressJet may not have received any money, I’m sure the money is allocated. It’s a mater of your management and the treasury coming to an agreement on executing all of this. Same thing with us.
No, actually he said and I quote “Meanwhile all our regional competitors (except for skywest) fell under the $100 Million Threshold”.
Expressjet operates 50 seaters, they are no longer our competitor. He never made the claim that “every regional” was below 100 mil.

What is the significance of $100,000,000 that is being discussed in this thread?

That is a VERY short sighted view. The majors allocate flying and if Regional A can do it at a better value than Regional B the plane will move.
Do you think Wendy’s and Taco Bell are
not competitors because their food options are different? They are certainly competing for your dollar budgeted for food.
If you truly believe your statement please stick to operating planes and never apply to manage anything. Your employees will deserve better.

Could it be that he meant they won’t be a competitor because of the statements that United has made regarding 50 seat flying? Currently, 76 seat and 50 seat operators fight for the same scraps, but if United did away with 50 seat flying, then a 50 seat only operator would go away and no longer be competition.
The fact remains, until there is a definite announcement they better treat each other as the competition or someone is going to get caught with their pants down and not like the result. Maybe Xjet, SkyW, Mesa...who knows but it’s time for mgmt to keep their head on a swivel.
