Isn’t every route a mainline route? The parent company decides if it is to be operated with a 777, 737, or E145. If he did say that 50 seat jets won’t be part of United after this is over, that would mean that 50 seat jets won’t fly United passengers. Still too many variables to know what he meant, or how any of this will actually pan out.

I just saw a clip of his comment that was posted on the pilot FB page. After hearing that...I’m not sure.

If it’s exactly what we think it is. C5, G7, ZW are going to be with us in the unemployment line.

I’m not really sure about details concerning scope and fee for departure airlines or whatever. Heck, I’m not even old enough to reminder what 9/11 was like to live through, and 2008 too. So this might be a dumb question about how all this works. But if United has stake in companies like XJT and C5, why would they let them die and let SkyWest, Mesa and Republic live on with 70+ seat UA flying? Wouldn’t they want those jets transferred over? Again, I have no idea how this works.

United will be fighting for survival like everyone else, that will come with some very difficult decisions. SKYW and Republic will be at the table as will the other UAX carriers and will have the chance to answer when the question "what can you do to help" comes around. The bottom line will decide.

Yes, various regionals have loaned big sums to several majors since 9/11... pay to play. I'm guessing we haven't seen the end of that model.

This is the first time the whole world has been shutdown at once in history... unfortunately the damage has been done, while the media and everyone wants us focused on the virus, we are on the verge of a global great depression where the destruction will be talked about in history books 100 years from now. the majority of major airlines will lose 50-60% of their seniority lists and regionals will basically be shutting the doors. Sadly, the virus will seem like a picnic on the beach compared to what is around the corner. The fiat currency/petrodollar could possibly crash from this destroying the standard of living for majority of americans. The fiat currency system was so corrupted for so long and our founders warned us about this.... you are sadly watching the end of america. We were warned about this for sooo long and nobody listened, but here we are... this is not a blue or red thing either. Hug your family, get your guns and if you have extra cash laying around buy some Gold and Silver. Every time fiat currencies failed throughout history, Gold won every time... stock up on Gold, Guns, and Silver and food..... The so-called conspiracy theorists don't seem like nutjobs anymore LOL

no dude you totally sound like a nut, express jet may fail, anyone with 50 seaters probably will, SkyWest will make it, endeavor will make it, envoy, republic, etc...the fact the xjet has made it this far surprised me

vortacmeatsac 04-02-2020 06:13 PM

United like any other carrier isn't going to ditch anything that can generate revenue, and generate it quick. No doubt things are going to change, but throwing all the 50 seat flying out the window wont happen.

No dude, you obviously are a very ignorant person who doesn't understand what is going on... this isn't just some random virus, you are watching the shutdown of the world. Have you not studied history, the history of money?? How long do you think the dollar/fiat currency will last? every country has been dumping the dollar little by little over the last 8 years and hoarding Gold.... what does that tell you?? I bet you didnt even know that, but im the nut. How can the central bank(the fed) buy unlimited assets with unlimited dollars which has never been done before?? Ever since that happened, the dollar has been dumped globally at the highest rate the last 2 weeks. I bet you don't even know what the petro-dollar is.... but im the nut.. Just be prepared bud... get you and your family ready. This depression won't be pretty

One is ownership of the jets.. SkyWest and Republic own most of there jets.. Second is cost to move them over, or cost to acquire more 80-76 seat jets. (UA doesnt have the Capital and “shell companies” like C5/XJT don't have the credit or capital.. Plus more RJ won’t even be needed in 6months-3 year time frame... just bad luck. Good luck to us all..
