I hate to see u guys suffer BUT please don’t fall for the oldest trick in the book. We HAVE seen this movie before: You agree to concessions and then oops . . . Commair and Expressjet will both survive. You will just have much less pay. Shame on your weak arse MEC chairman. Stay strong. Don’t fall the oldest ploy in the book.
You will be soon waiting in line for your free watered down soup as you will be getting furloughed from your clown legacy carrier. JM (MEC chair) is the best guy for the job, a guy that will take a bullet for his pilot group.

United Airlines:

Taking government money, just to threaten it's lowest paid workers.

Classy

Commutair has something like 2000 seats to its name.

If there is a rebound of customer demand, how will United feed its network with 40 airplanes of 50 seats?

They will need a feeder that can support nation-wide operations for the smaller 50-seat market.

I think that will be XJT. Certainly Whiskey nor Commutair could fill this role. Honestly, and no offense to commutair - but you think United will put all of its chips on the 50-seat market to either of those companies?

What’s to stop them from transferring the hulls to Commutair and offering preferential interviews there to the expressjet furloughees?

again, I absolutely hope that doesn’t happen. Just think it’s a possibility.

Remember ExpressJet doesn’t own the planes, they only own the group of senior pilots. If United drops ExpressJet when things pick back up they can add the planes to commutair and re-hire the ExpressJet pilots on year one pay. Saves United tons of money short term.

Joe isn’t weak. He’s been hardworking and loyal for the XJT pilots. They’re just being dealt a chit sandwich

Unfortunately that might be SkyWest. They can handle ORD and everything west of ORD, C5 could handle EWR & IAD. GoJet might fit in there somewhere.

I hate it for you guys. This industry is disgusting sometimes.

I agree with this. Everyone keeps repeating that Kirby wants the 50 seaters to go away, what’s he replacing the lift with when demand returns? We’ve all got a wish list.

The irony is, UA is going to have both C5 and XJT get their labor groups to give massive concessions on already pitiful wages. One of them will still go away, and the other will just be there working for less. So in a perfect world, they should both hold ground and at least go out holding their heads up high.
