Default Town Hall

Can anyone shed some light on the meeting? I was unable to listen and I am curious if anything new was reveled about our future. Thanks.

From what I heard

Upcoming procedures to sanitize the plane and how the sani kits will be allocated.

Why we lost the 175 flying: to be a more efficient fleet.

Any plans related to the future of the company after October 1st is incredibly speculative and no one in the company knows what will happen after that moment. This shut down any questions about furloughs.

That the 50 seat flying is indeed a major part of United’s plan.

Looking at early retirement possibilities.

Hard to know what it is worth as most of the answers were equivocating around future events. Lots of motivational talk that you’d expect management to say. However, the sobering fact is this time last year UAL has 600K pax a day while now they have 25k/day and that’s the current reality.

I am missing a lot but I was driving home and listened to it over the speakers.

Hey sick time is part of the compensation use it or lose it...at least that is what I heard a 175CA say.

Truth is when Mesa pulled off the hail mary and got the next 20 management realized they wouldn’t get more 175’s with out scope relief and they made a play for the 145’s.

Management didn’t make any play. United gives an order and they click their heels.

Simple as that.

Well let’s hope management can dance good enough to keep us in the air until hiring picks up across the industry again.

I honestly do not understand how people can have such selective hearing. On April 2, Scott Kirby told United Employees at their TownHall That,
“My guess is the 50 seaters mostly will be gone, by the end of this,”

HotDogSonicBoom.... Im not saying YOU have selective hearing. What I am saying is that the cheerleaders in ExpressJet management do. Their job is to keep people interested in coming to work and hope that they aren’t paying attention to what is happening big picture wise.
