What's the Latest at ASA/Expressjet?

At some carriers they dual qual via CD and manual. Take the MD88/90 as examples of aircraft with completely different engines and systems. Then you've got the 757 to 767-400 at Continental and Delta's mix and match 757 - 767 fleet. Figure in one day you could get out of a 175,000 jet and get into an aircraft that weighs just shy of a half million pounds and systems wise, nothing is the same.
The FAA has observed that pilots do a pretty good job following abnormal checklists. If Boeing had their way, everything in current production would be a single type (although the 737 really is anachronistic ... a 1960's overhead with new avionics).
ASA / Expressjet had (has) really good training. IMHO they've always gone well above the minimum standard that you see at some places. It is likely the FAA would waive whatever requirement (if one exists) for getting specific training, or make it inexpensive to comply with.

There's no way to answer that question. JCBA negotiations are in the end game, but still no TA. I'm hearing TA by the end of summer? Then a month of road shoes and a vote. Will the TA pass? Your guess is as good as mine. I give it a 60/40 chance of passing. IF is passes, then SLI negotiations begin. (If it fails, back to the table for a few months). I believe the timeline for SLI is 9 months (Nevets will say for sure). That process is going to be ugly. As for fences, I seriously doubt they won't exist. I would think at least 18 months. I'd like to see a few years. Even when they come down, there won't be a system wide bump/flush bid, people will only be able to bid open vacancies.

Sorry if this has been discussed but I couldn't find it in the previous posts. How long are the current CPAs for on both the ERJ and CRJ sides?

And that still, IMHO, is way too much. According to my Differences Check Instructor, the only differences training required by the FAA, at least for the sim portion, is to operate the slats/flaps

Well, that is ridiculous. While I think operating both variants is perfectly doable, I'm not sure how you can consider 1 day of ground and 1 day of sim "way too much". Operating the slats/flaps & EMER flaps is not enough. V1 cuts should very much be seen in the sim as the FADEC handles APR power differently. The possibility of a flameout & auto-relight loop should be seen. You've also got significantly different sight picture for approach, abnormal procedures with significant differences, etc. This is not a differences course that should be done by memo. The previous program was probably longer than needed, but I wouldn't want to see less than what they are doing now.
