Sorry, long time ago and the details are fuzzy.

But the ASA (XJT) agreement with Delta dictates that they have to be the second cheapest DelCon carrier in the "DCI Portfolio". IE, they to reset the rates.

With PinnDeavor being bent over in the BK/concessions, it lowers the rates overall, putting "downward industry pressure" on the now more expensive carriers. Ahem, XJT.

Again, don't remember ALL the details, but under the new/merged XJT, MORE planes are flown under UAX CPA's than DAL CPA's. Yet the contract with DAL affects the whole of XJT. Making a larger group of the pilots subject to concessions due to the "downward industry pressure" and having to be "cost competitive".

All just part of illustrating how completed fornicated the mainline-regional relationships are. Especially NOW when the legacies are making record profits, and they STILL consider their "sourcing costs" (regional feed) to be too high.

I thought I remember reading that DAL may not be pressing the reset button this year, it's simply their option per the agreement. But I don't know if that's true.

Don't forget GoJet being awarded 900 flying. They are most likely now the cheapest forcing OO/EV to come down even further to be the 2nd cheapest.

Don't worry guys. As long as we all work really hard and keep our performance and fuel savings up, Delta won't care about our costs. Management said so.

4/1 ORD-DTW Standup was in red for 36 hours before cancelling because CA had family issues. Flight had to cancel because we had no reserve CA.

4/10 ORD-ATL Standup cancelled. No CA and no reserves available.

4/15 ORD-ATL Standup cancelled. Same as above.

4/17 ORD-DTW Standup. Same as above.

So I am not sure if it was because I used the plural of crew when it is only a CA that made my statement false, but we are cancelling flights because we need 2 pilots to fly the plane and can sometimes only get 1. Pilots are unable to cover the flights when called on their days off, because they are getting awarded 100 hours and getting minimum days off. We have check airman flying as FO's in some bases to get flights in the air.

I personally won't pickup any extra flying because the company's stance is if you fly anything other than your awarded scheduled for 12 months, they won't pay protect you if you time out. There has been no clarification if that includes covering trips CS calls you for, so I won't do it. I don't have to worry about trading any trips because most people only have a day or two off between trips, or they are getting 3 day trips stacked together, and nobody can switch any flying to improve QOL.

So instead, SW will just send emails out where the CP asks everyone to call him before calling in sick or emergency since we are having cancels due to absence calls. Here is a quick equation that SGU can use (10 days off + no ability to drop trips or improve schedule = < sick calls) I have a family and a life outside of work. Give me the tools to be a responsible employee, and I will do what I can to help. Push me into a corner and force me to call in to live me life, and I will call in. One pilot had his vacation cancelled that was over his wedding day. Do you think he is going to be flying that trip?

Years ago I had a Skywest pilot friend tell me that he had to call the Cheif pilot and explain it to him in order to call in sick. To me, that's just intimidation tactics. And that's exactly what my friend said.

Here at LXJT, if we have a doctor's note, there is no limit to the amount of times we can call out.

I didn't say "We are cancelling half our flights" or "We are cancelling 30 flights a day" I said we are cancelling flights because we don't have crews. We have 200 people in training at some level, and zero reserve crews for the entire month in multiple bases, which is causing us to cancel flights.

Is it growing pains? Sure, I'll agree with that. Is it more painful for pilots that those at SGU? I don't have enough research to write my dissertation and I don't want to come across as spreading false info, but I would think yes.

All I know is that I am burned out. I have been getting awarded 88+ hours for the past 8 months with December the only month I was able to improve my schedule. I'm in the middle of flying 58 hours in 10 days with 2 days at home. For May I was awarded 99 hours. So yeah I wish we had some of the protections of a union and I hope my co-workers will start to feel the same way.

**disclamer** All statements made above are only the opinion of the poster. None of the statements have been approved by SGU nor do I speak for any of the 3,500 pilots that are currently employeed by SkyWest airlines. All numbers and estimations should be verified by an independent 3rd party before being used.

As a reference, at LXJT, the lines cannot average more than 88 hours. And maximum line value is 95 hours. If the company wants to increase that, the union has to agree. And of course they are all built with at least 12 days off.

Anyone still think there is a future for L-XJT after 2017 based on UALs announcement today?
Won't TSA have the bulk of the 50 seaters UAL says they will continue to operate?

Of which how many are XJT getting? Hasn't every move SW has made indicate they are keeping all growth and E175s in house?

The 20 and 30 year "milestone" celebrations are getting a little played.
