Anyways I looked at my bid and I saw on the priority list that select all remaining pairings was no.2 on the list below no.1 select reserve line 701,702,703,704, etc...

My question is, did I totally botch my bid because of the priority being mixed up? One of my friends just ahead of me on the list bid exactly like me, got a line, but he also was able to have select all remaining pairings listed ahead of his reserve line bids before reserve pairing 701,702,703, etc listed in his priority box 1.

I'm pretty sure I know the answer to this but I need to know if I should be upset with someone else or upset with my self for not knowing how to bid properly.
I have no idea since I'm nowhere near a line but I would post that on the ASA MEC Facebook page if you haven't. I'm sure they know the answer.

Yeah, that is the main thing that you have to do. In the actual reserve line selection window there are 2 options: something like "assign reserve" and "award all paring before reserve." The system defaults to the first option, so you need to manually select the other option.

Also, set your line value to a ridiculously low level like 40 hours. The system will automatically adjust it to the bottom of the window used for that month. This will protect you if the company and the union, while running the awards, decide on a lower credit window than what was published in the bid package.

I really wish the biding lessons weren't during new hire Indoc. That's the last thing I was worried about during new hire training and now years later I feel like I'm caught with my pants down.

Not when you tell it to award you a reserve line.

If only there was a prompt when making bid like this that reads "are you sure you dumbass this is what you want?"
