Afraid you have the wrong person there chief. No where have I seen Skywest say they are shutting down XJT in 2017. All they post is when the CPA expires. We've seen several short term extensions over the years and I'm afraid that is all we shall see in the near future. They have stated many times that they see a viable demand for 50 seat lift into the future. I dont see anywhere that they say they are shutting down XJT. If you are so sure that is happening then you should be long gone to Commutair or somewhere else!
According to the last 10Q, there haven't been any short term extensions. But I do agree there will be a viable 50 seat market. UAL has a press release stating they are planning on having less than 100 fifty seat regional jets by 2019. UAL has given TSA 40 of the 145s (plus the dozen they already had flying for UAL) and Commutair another 40 more. And Skywest also operates 54 CRJ 200s for UAL as well. That all points in one direction to me. But that's just my educated guess. I could be wrong. I could just hope...

Poor thing. Looks like someone hurt you're poor little feelings about XJT. I remember when we used to respect each other at XJT. I guess those days are gone. Let me guess, you work on the delta side and were ASA.

The total fleet count as it stands now will be 61 ERJ's as soon as they can get them from XJT with another 20 on option for C5.

FYI. Commutair will have 61 ERJ-145's. They are getting 40 ERJ's on top of the 21 Dash planes that are being replaced by 21 ERJ's starting next year.

Just watch for a big announcement from a different regional about EWR in about 9-12 months.

With the Delta and AA wo's stepping up the game with pay rates and bonuses,XJT would have to be somewhere in the neighborhood of $65-70k for fo's to top them.I'm not saying it won't happen, but it's highly unlikely Skw will come off of that kind of cash for a company that they obviously plan on shrinking.

Not sure what the plan is, but that is what I heard, along with 700's coming in DFW for the CRJ. I have a feeling its going to come (the 700's) as the ERj side closes their operations down there.

Six months is a long time in the regional airline industry. I could make convincing arguments for eventual 3 year upgrades here and for continued 9 year upgrades. Nobody really knows what we will be like in 2 years. I drive to work, enjoy my job, and have a solid backup plan. This has been a great place for me.
Okay, I'll play along..
In one post make your convincing argument about three year upgrades...
