Luggage...

Just be sure to get black. It's what all pilots have so they can have a hard time finding it among a sea of other black bags. Or grab the wrong one from baggage claim when deadheading.
I'd stay away from the luggage works bag. Too heavy. There are better cheaper lighter bags you can find. I've had mine from Eddie Bauer for 3 years. Works great. Weighs 5 lbs and hold a lot.

Many years ago there was an "industry" Travel Pro outlet store in South Florida. It was mostly stuff with very slight imperfections that no one would ever see.

My best career purchase has been my 2 (different sizes) Zero Haliburton cases I got off ebay for less than 1/2 of what they cost new. Yeah, I had to surf for them awhile and wait till the right ones popped into my ebay search key but they've both been fantastic, timeless, lightweight bags. Plus, they were already patin'ed with scratches and dents since they were lightly used. I've already gotten warranty service on the big bag for a broke wheel but these bags are worth the $$$ and the lifetime warranty. If you're going to be here awhile, spend the $$$ from that draft trip or that vaca that you sold back and get a good used Halliburton or Rimowa bag that will last 20+ yrs.
Some guys say buy a $150 bag every 3 yrs and take it off your taxes (no worky starting in 2018 BTW...) and wind up spending $1000 in bags over a career or "go big or go home" and get the $400-$500 lifetime Halliburton bag once.

I am about to buy the bag you have, but I have a few quick questions I thought you could help with.
Does stuff in the back pockets get crushed when the bag is gate checked? What is a shirt shelf? And, do you use the internal divider? I like the idea, but I also feel it might be a gimmicky waste of internal space.
Thanks.

I'm pulling this out of the airline history "cobwebs." I think Travel Pro was the first luggage manufacturer with a pull handle and wheels. Over the years I sent back 2 bags for repair. Each time I received a letter saying that mine wasn't repairable and it was replaced with a new one.

I have never heard lightweight and Zero Halliburton mentioned together . Certainly didn’t apply for the bag I owned.

They give a 20% airline pilot discount.
