If you plan to come here as an "interim" job while on furlough, then go back to your former airline, we don't want you.
Many American guys did that to us in the 1990's. Finally, the Chief Pilot got fed up and refused to interview any American guys for about 10 years.
We want guys and gals that want to be here. If you think this is the "B" team, go someplace else.

History may rhyme, but I don't think it will repeat in this instance.
With very few exceptions, anyone coming here henceforth will stay to retirement.
i think we should interview anyone and everyone, even mainline guys - furloughed or not. We should not get sued for discrimination on the basis of prior employer or employment or furlough status.
We should roll out the welcome mat to everyone. The more competent and diligent and winsome and friendly, the better.

As a pilot here, I could care less if you go back to your former employer. Seriously. If it doesn’t work for you and you decide the previous employer suited you better, then go back! No hard feelings from me. FedEx can absorb the training cost.
Guys, it’s business. Not personal. You like it here or you don’t, the company may care but I sure don’t, do what’s best for you...

Until that pilot gets to vote on the contract he/she is leaving and you have to fly under. Same goes for flying with them. What do they have to loose when they have one foot out the door? Now if they come and have intentions to stay and it doesent work out thats one thing but coming as a place holder is bs when thousands would kill for the opportunity.

I know several that quit purple to fly passengers. For some people, it's all about being seen in uniform around the terminal, which is why they stopped updating their app at FedEx as soon as the legacy called, or left FedEx once the legacy called.
