Wow, really? I wonder why our former President made such a big push to develop this vaccine, sending so much money to some of the vaccine manufacturers. And then, even though he had a bad case of Covid, with additional support of monoclonal antibodies, he still got vaccinated?

Most of us are intelligent enough to simply ask our doctors who we've taken medical recommendations from for decades now. I'll pass on a you tube video some pilot on a message board posted as "Research"... Especially with an operable cell phone and an uncle who I've had medical conversations with for 25 years now.

Covid with him was close to threatening his life. They allegedly contemplated intubating him and he's morbidly obese. It wouldn't shock me if he has type 2 diabetes, heart disease or both. Getting vaccinated was a pretty easy decision for the former President but for political reasons he's decided to be less vocal than he could've been. Personally I think he should've taken more credit for the vaccines than he did despite it being a pretty easy decision to fast track them for mass distribution.

He was awfully quick to get “the jab” even though he should have already had some decent immunity from both Covid and the monoclonal antibodies. It seems that the conspiracy theory people are awfully quiet when you ask them why the former President was so anxious to get vaccinated if it is so dangerous.

United MEC Chair comments on May 2021
 

Can someone explain to me the email that the United MEC Chair sent on May 27, 2021 telling our individual or individuals "to get a ****ing shot and collect the $4K or he can ****." I would like to hear the rationalization on that. If you have an issue with those who freely choose not to get the vaccine you need to respect that fact. If not then you are just as low as the United MEC Chair. Challenge me on what I wrote and our MEC at that time blamed us. I have a few bud's at United, they as well as others do not represent the United MEC Chair who sent this email and came down here last week.

I have also seen numerous doctor pilots with internet articles as case studies. In the doctor world the running joke is a doctor willing to take a position on anything in any manner is easy to find if money is involved. Many credentialed doctors have different opinions on numerous things medical related. They are humans with opinions also. So saying “a doctor says” doesn’t mean anything. Its all about perspective.

Just so you know there are also doctors making money who promote refusing the vaccine and directing clients to pay for video consultations with them, then prescribing them ivermectin and other vitamins from their online pharmacy. Ding ding ding again I guess.

This about doctors is a good point. Same thing can be said of attorneys. What seems to be currently happening is the doctor community weighing the liabilities of writing medical exemptions for the patients who are requesting them versus keeping them as a customer. Unfortunately, in current society, social media, and cancel culture, the choice seems to be easier one way than the other.

Vaccine Stance
 

Before the vaccine, society found a way to operate with mitigations, face masks, social distancing, testing, outdoor eating, ventilation in classrooms, plexiglass, frequent cleaning, washing hands, essential travel only, essential workers only, etc etc. I’m not commenting on their effectiveness, just that we used them to continue life as normal as possible before the vaccine? We worked through all of that before the vaccine. Now that we have a vaccine, we can’t have people work or travel without being vaccinated? So now that everyone that wants to be vaccinated has gotten the jab and protected by it, we can’t operate with those who choose not to, even though we went 9 months operating with no one having a vaccine? Does that make sense to anyone?

There isn’t a doctor or anyone else in this world that can tell anyone they won’t have any adverse reaction if they get vaccinated. There is a certain amount of risk there just as there is of not getting vaccinated. One’s age, health, and pre-existing conditions, or previous COVID infection are going to dictate the amount of risk of not getting the vaccine. Taking into account people of all ages, health, and disease, 99.2% of them recover from COVID. All previous vaccines have had years of data to validate the adverse reactions. We are still collecting data on the COVID vaccine. There have been other vaccines that have been pulled due to adverse reactions. It’s going to take years to get the equivalent amount of data for this vaccine. This is all to say that because of those facts, people should be free to chose what risk they are willing to take.

There is a risk and risk analysis in almost everything we do every day. For example, the cdc has numbers for deaths caused by car accidents every year and even break it down by age. Needless to say, there are thousands of people who die or maimed from these accidents. Yet we don’t have a zero tolerance policy on driving even though we know what causes accidents. We don’t dictate that one can only travel in vehicles driven by professionals. We simply have rules, things like tests, age limits, seatbelts, speed limits, eye glasses, cell phones restrictions, drinking, etc. (kind of like the having mitigation rules we had before the vaccine). If everyone followed all the rules, deaths and dismemberments would go down close to nothing. Yet we know, because we are humans, that not everyone will follow all the rules all the time. Yet we still make the decision to get behind the wheel almost everyday. Despite thousands of people needlessly dying every single year after year, we still drive. We’ve learned to live with it.

Making people choose between a vaccine and their livelihood is not a true choice, true consent, it’s not freedom and liberty. That is called coercion. Consent is when you have two of the same act and one becomes a crime without consent. And that’s what we have here. You may support the vaccine mandate for your own personal reasons. But remember that when power is given, it’s seldom given back. Don’t give your freedom away just because it doesn’t confirm to your current ideology, values, or judgements. The next mandate may be the one you are against.

I’m against the uniform mandate we have. I’d be able to fly so much better in pajamas.

Well, some might wear pajamas. The majority just change into more comfortable clothes. Why wear a uniform for a long haul flight especially when you are going to go sleep in a bunk?
