So to recap BrianH and TonyC want to recall our reps because we don't have time to see what the negotiating committee is able to accomplish with the first TA. The rest of the angry mob is going to vote down the first TA no matter what because, well they have a feeling.
I know it's the internet and especially this forum, but do you all actually read what you write sometimes?

Also, please tell you accept the first dealer offer on any car you've bought, or the first offer on any house you've sold.
Frankly, if the MEC and NC can't get an eye-watering TA under the current conditions, I don't know what to tell you.

Please tell me that Fedex is your first airline.

No.
Why does it matter, the angry mob is going to vote no the first time anyways.

So no to FDX being your first airline job. That's clear.
So no to accepting the first offer for a car. Got it.
No comment on the first offer on a house sold. Hum.
And it does matter about the contract. IF the NC is able to listen to the members and get us the contract we truly deserve for all of our efforts, then it should pass with high marks. THE problem is the lack of listening. With the history of contract '15 still fresh in a lot of pilots minds, the MEC and the NC must listen and lead to regain credibility. No we don't need the exact numbers. We do need to see they are going down the right path. Saying things like we are working to return to the replacement ratios of 1999's A-plan numbers would be a good start. Yes the NC chair has said that once that I have heard. If the MEC, Officers and NC would show as much vigor for our NUMBER ONE GOAL as they do for tipping the charity fund, we might begin to have a little faith they are going in the right direction. That means they need to show us in action and deed that we have been heard and they are going in the right direction. As for pay rates, the highest in the industry plus 10% without any givebacks. We have done enough of that already.
If these numbers are too low, stand for something. Stand and be counted. Let's have the debate the MEC failed to have. Uneducated survey results are just that. Uneducated results. That is not how I want my contract negotiated. That is why I take the time to write. Education is not free.

Am I allowed to comment now?
PM said on the last pub call that we would have industry leading pay and retirement. The numbers aren’t solidified because if we agree on that now it might change until the contract is ratified by another group raising the bar. I agree with the approach. With the chorus of no to any first offer crowd I don’t see how my trust is seen as naivety. Everyone is going to vote no. Why can’t I see the product before my no vote.
Listen I’m sure you want the absolute best contract possible. We are in perfect agreement there. I’m trusting the process. Because the process allows me to reject the offer. Where I don’t agree is, negotiating in public, recalling reps, angry mob mentality that destroys unity and does not empower our reps and negotiating committee.
I’ll ask “you” this, what are you doing to empower your elected representatives and NC?

Easy answer, thanks for the question!
I am engaged. Everyone knows that. I stood singularly against last years inappropriate disclosure of MEC CONFIDENTIAL information (as confirmed by the council 22 documentation last week). I lost my national job because of it I believe. I don't really know because the MEC chairman has NEVER talked to me about it. It goes something like this. I was the mot successful person in my position. I had us at the table with a speaking role at eight national and international rule making and advisory groups. There is no one even close to that successful. But your MEC chair removed the MEC's approval for me to do national work without their knowledge. let that sink in. Who is running the show? Knowing I was going to see repercussions like that, I stood strong to have a wrong righted in the daylight. The error was done during a PUB call. It was heard by many. But instead of correcting the issue, I got banished. And you lost a valuable voice at national. Why did I do it knowing what might happen, because the MEC has an unwritten rule that goes like this. It you witness something wrong and don't try to correct it, you agree with it. I didn't. And it costed us all.
Further, I have seen parliamentary efforts to stop debate because the "group" knew they had the votes beforehand. You lost out on possible wins because they knew they had enough votes for "good enough". I fight for best value.
I have been talking to my reps. I have been writing here and I know they are listening.
I have asked many many questions during the PUB calls even after they edited the questions and would not let us have a follow on question. I have only missed one or two calls in total. I get up to listen in no matter where in the world I am. I have read everything I have received. I have advocated for Local Council Meetings. I have advocated for a Joint Council Meeting. Do you remember the last Joint Council Meeting? When was it? I know.
I have argued with the NC chair every chance I have had if I thought our ask was too low. I have said thank you when I agreed. One of my most cherished compliments was from the NC chair. He understood who I was fighting for and that I always came prepared.
At the table, I recorded more vote than anyone. Why, so you could look up how your reps voted if you cared. Have you?
In short, I have let them know they will be held accountable for Best Value for every pilot. Anything less will not do.
I get it, it is easy to say things like I support the efforts, I'll vote when I see something. But the problem is when there is enough in the next contract, like in '15, where there was just enough in it for enough pilots that it passed. That rests at the feet of the MEC and NC of old. Do you want to see that repeated? I don't, so I am engaged from the start.
And since you asked:
I volunteered from 2001 through 2009 with no flight pay loss. I ran for several seats. Was told by a former rep to please run for the seat I won. I again did national work from 2017 through 2020 with almost no FPL. I even went to Europe during a vacation I had because you were that important and the timing was what it was. And no I did not ask for FPL. And when Covid happened and everything went online, I was attending up to 20 meetings a month, mostly without FPL. There is more, but I think you get the picture. I have done my part, more than some less than others for sure.
So now I ask you, what have you done to ensure '15 does not get repeated. Who are you holding accountable for comments like, I will not be embarrassed at the table? In short, what do you stand for?
We may never toast one another, but we both know we get the same contract. Let's try to make it the best, not good enough.

Sorry, first house sold I rejected two offers. Second house had 26 offers. We took the one with 75k over asking.

as long as we have the ratio of widebodies to narrowbodies we will always lead in pay rates.
the only empowerment the union has is a declaring what is struck work at time of cooling off period. Thats it.
if history repeats itself we will get a 4-5 yoy raise with commensurate work rules give backs to pay for said raise. Think it was coined as “cost nuetral” back in the day.

I like your passion. I just wished you would stop low balling us with your public negotiations.

Trust our union leadership and the MEC? After 25yrs, multiple contracts, misrepresented LOAs, why would I trust the Union? Why would anyone trust our union? Its been one contract after another sold to the pilot group as, "This is the best we can get, or, this is all the company will give us". I've been lied to long enough. I have zero faith in our leadership. Hopefully our pilot group will finally see through the lies and vote no if the contract does not meet our goals.
Just don't disagree with any of the 12 angry men. You'll get called a troll...

If the NC/MEC doesn't deliver, we recall them. Simply.
