So surely you also have no use for a NC chair that can't fly the line either right?

Apparently you are an unreasonable, irresponsible, and unprofessional pilot if you voted no.

Apparently you are a “crazie” if you voted no.

That’s what your NC thinks of you.

I’ll tell you what is unprofessional and irresponsible— the cozy relationship between this union/NC and flight ops leadership.

“Here to support the bro’s” — only if you voted YES.

Concerning, troubling and frustrating.

It might be crazier that either the senior Yes voters don't see it, or worse they don't care and were prepared to say FYIGM as they walked out the door after helping set the place ablaze.

They are not taken out of your sick bank nor are you paid for the trip. It is in the contract 12.A.9. Also, the FERC isn't run by the company. So, based on what you stated, the FERC couldn't allow the pilot to be compensated from their sick bank. If your friend has proof that they checked at actual trip check in before the fatigue call, then they should grieve this. If the fatigue call was made after actual trip check in, then the FERC only has two options, compensation without use of sick bank, or compensation with the use of sick bank.
He did not screenshot the checkin, but yes, he did check in. The company coded the fatigue call as though he had not checked in and sent it to GMU. He sent an Insite, then check in code was reversed (company admitted he had checked in), then the use of sick bank was denied by the company due to their ruling that the schedule was built with adequate rest and he had no right to be fatigue. I did not know this was a possible outcome of a fatigue call. He has sent multiple DART to the union during this process as it plays out. Thank you for your reply and clarifications. I wrote this to put information out there to the rest you and find out whether it is occuring en masse, not saying it is in accordance with the CBA. Can the company get away with this? Yes they can. You are right, he can grieve it. Spend 5x the hours you wil get back from the trip just to try to reclaim your rightful pay, then lose the case. The company appears to want to discourage fatigue calls and make us all miserable until we vote in a concessionary contract. They claimed in ground school how wonderful our fatigue policy is and how it allows us to legalize difficult schedules. If you call fatigued you are at the mercy of the board ruling for or against you. The union wasn't much help. It looks like they sided with the company. This type of thing also occured during Covid when they were so understaffed. Screen shot your check in, then follow up to see what happens to your pay over the next month while you wait for the committee to rule.

Ok, so the details changed a little, but still don't add up. It sounds like your buddy called in fatigued during a hub turn, probably before the scheduled showtime for the trip. Maybe he checked in, maybe he didn't, only he and the company knows. The company doesn't make the decision of whether he is paid or not. The question is, what is actual check in. Is it show time, or when the pilot hits the check in button? The fact that your buddy doesn't want to spend the time to grieve it shows that they don't really care if the contract is being abused. It is that type of apathy that allows the company to interpret the contract how they want.

It is the details that matter when it comes to these types of situations, and there are many important details that are missing. Bottom line is, if you are faigued, call in fatigued. If you call in before showtime, your hours will most likely go into MU, not come out of your sick bank per the contract.

Heard! Thank you for the suggestions. My point was that people have lost faith in the old guard union leadership, who appear to be sleeping with the enemy, as well as in our impotent contract enforcement. The fatigue policy is punitive and lacks teeth. Perhaps our discourse shall helps the 2 guys reading this who will ever use the fatigue call. Most guys here feel it is unmanly to punch out fatigued.

Total BS. If you are fatigued then make the call and guys do. We didn't have this option for a long time and it was punative treatment by the company to call in sick on a trip. Now we have the fatigue option. But keep up the broad generalization of anyone senior.

Not sure where they said it was most "senior" guys.
