Posting and bragging about your 401k balance automatically awards you the DBOTY Trophy.

Is this "loss" you cry of according to the tony ticker?
Some of us don't quite view it your way. I sleep a lot better (no CPAP required) knowing we voted down that pile of trash TA.

Oh but Fred came in and told a class he was sad we voted it down! So now we HAVE to accept whatever the mostly-red-lined TA 1.01 has in it! And I just can't wait to be made whole because my rep says it polled high!

Fred didn’t show up at the picket, very disappointed in that. Guess it slipped his mind.

Free CPAP, Tumi Bag; and a Glock 19 for Memphistan, or else I’m voting No.

Be careful with CPAP jokes. Unless you were tested, you have no idea whether you need one. There's more to it than snoring.

I had a freak allergic reaction that sent me to the hospital. The FAA demanded a series of tests, sleep study included, and I scored 0.6 above the limit. Now I am forever labeled with OSA even though I'm fitter, can out run and PT all of my doctors.

This job, even if you're flying all "days", is slowly killing you.

I have a friend interested in FedEx and was just curious. I hope you guys get a great new contract you deserve and hopefully soon.
I sleep well knowing that TA1 failed. But Im not starving for the measly raise and no one that was not on first year pay should've either. Im also not near retirement hoping for the small pension bump. Do your friends a favor and tell them to stay away.

You cannot lose something you never had. The vote was democratic. You need to get past that the majority disagreed with you.

Two completely different business models with far different methods of determining what scope language will control.

There's not a single DL, AA or UA (or any airline customer for that matter) that buys a ticket while telling the airline - "Ya know, I don't really care if I get to my destination tomorrow or the day after. In fact, it's okay if I don't get there until next week. I also don't care if I get there on an airplane. You can truck me there or maybe put me in the belly of another airline. Just get me there for a reasonable price sometime in the next week or so."

So please stop with ANY scope comparisons with our pax peers. One of the main reasons the legacy carriers made improvements in scope is because it meshed with the long term corporate goals of their companies. We need to try to protect our flying where we can. Hopefully we can find common ground with management because it benefits both sides. But, we're not going to be successful if we start trying to insist that FedEx buys aircraft they don't need or fly half-full aircraft on non-profitable routes because we "deserve" to be moving that freight no matter what.
FedEx outsources our jobs to 737 operators. I'm pretty sure those aren't always half-full. So I agree, scope language in the next TA must insist FedEx buys 737's for us to operate and then insource all those jobs.

As for your apples and ornithopters, yes it's a different business model. But you are looking at the wrong business model. The pertinent business model is the pilot business model. And that is indicated by pilot contracts, which scope is a part of. If you don't believe me, all you have to do is imagine how many less pilots we would have if we had NO section one.

life is slowly killing you. Sitting behind a desk day trading every day without exercise is probably worse than the day fliers. At least we have to walk up and down stairs a couple times. You’re being a little dramatic.

Please provide the precedent for a scope section to demand that a company purchase a specific airframe so that they can insource those jobs. Did the big three have a scope section that demanded that the company purchase RJ's and insource those jobs? Did they demand that they purchase more wide body aircraft and insource the code share flights?

They're already in the contract - they're called "narrowbody". The issue is scope, not type.

We lost 60% of our day flying. And what's left often has very short layovers at destinations which leads to a battle between eating and sleeping, or eating horrendous company provided meals. Not exaggerating. Just the cruel truth about this job.
