That is good from a contract negotiation perspective. Someday FedEx will need to hire and having a conveyor belt of bottom of the list attrition is expensive for them.

JD had “contingencies” when people were oozing from Atlas; and that was hire expats and pay their visas. I’m sure they’ll have no problem hiring the swill from some ACMI’s when they need drivers again. Hopefully no one with a clear resume and background remotely thinks about coming to this dump.

Right but “leverage” is mostly an illusion when the company can just AVA or reassign flying to sidestep pressure. The longer we wait, the more they adapt and meanwhile, we’ve had more pilot suicides than any other airline. That alone should tell us waiting forever isn’t strength, it’s damage.

But I don't agree it's an illusion. The DRAFT is real and increasing. The cancellations are too. I've given up on this pilot group truly acting with any real unity, but EITHER more pilots are doing the right thing, OR the company's manipulation of SAM and massaging the schedule to hit 4A2FU #s is starting to crumble the operation.
Either way, leverage is increasing. The CO knows that. Hence the shadow negotiations that have been ongoing to get us to the most recent black Monday coup. What we do with that leverage is up to us.
