I agree we can't wait forever (I also understand hyperbole).
But I don't agree it's an illusion. The DRAFT is real and increasing. The cancellations are too. I've given up on this pilot group truly acting with any real unity, but EITHER more pilots are doing the right thing, OR the company's manipulation of SAM and massaging the schedule to hit 4A2FU #s is starting to crumble the operation.
Either way, leverage is increasing. The CO knows that. Hence the shadow negotiations that have been ongoing to get us to the most recent black Monday coup. What we do with that leverage is up to us.

There isn’t going to be a parking lot deal 2.0. But we can’t let the “oh it’s too fast for this new deal to work”. It’s going to be a deal that gets us out of this 4 years of misery and moves the chains to whatever comes next. This is where calls to ☢️ the Union aren’t prudent.

Using that as a cudgel to say it means the pilot group should take one path over another is pretty crass.

Fair point, those losses are absolutely on the company’s culture and neglect. But acknowledging them isn’t a cudgel… it’s a reminder that delay has human cost. If we ignore that reality while debating tactics, we’re missing what’s truly at stake which is the well-being of our pilot group.

Since one of my personal friends/fellow crew member sadly took his life I will speak up about this.
The company, MEC/LEC and the angry mobs are to blame.
The company cares about one thing, making money for the shareholders.
The MEC/LEC should work together to support the crew force to serve the crew forces best interest, not their own individual interest.
The company is doing its job, the Union is not.
Only within the last week some of the MEC is showing leadership in their emails. We need more of this so that they can bring the crew force back together so we can get the contract we deserve, for everyone.
All this has put a big financial and mental strain on the crew force. Everyone has a different life and just because you are breezing through all of this, many have been under a lot of stress. Unfortunately this stress has become too much for some.
We need to put our infighting and differences aside and come together to get across the finish line. I can guarantee you that the company can wait this out for a long time, which will benefit them and only hurt us.
If you think I am wrong then take a look at the last four years.

Someone answer me this, what's the harm in letting AB see if he can get some progress? It's explained multiple times by multiple people that a contract cannot be forced upon us and that we'll all have a chance to look at it, and if the MEC decides to send it for a vote, we'll all have a say.
If JG gets put back in place, we won't be back at the table for some time so we're not missing out on anything by letting the current NC and SMEs do their thing.
Tell me what harm is. I'm all ears.
