Will FedEx be doing any hiring in 2026 to cover the MD's and retirements? I'm well aware of the negotiations and the company has changed for the worst. But FedEx has always been my dream.
I'm a cargo dog and flew for the FedEx Feeders, and now the 767 for an ACMI shop. I just want to choose my forever airline to retire at. Please no sarcastic or bashing comments. I'm being serious and I'm competitive with my hours.

There’s no telling. The return, or lack thereof, of the MD will determine a lot I think. I myself, interviewed back in 2022 and am still in the pool. I live in Memphis so I’m keeping my ear to the ground on things through local FDX guys I know. I think it’s the million dollar question, but hard to see them hiring without a new contract. Some Purple Pathway folks are flowing, but that’s just a few pilots. Given the current situation, it would be hard for them to attract quality candidates (of course many would apply). Maybe someone here has a better answer, but 3.5 years after getting the call that I’d be starting class in 2 months…I’m still waiting 🥴.

I’ll be first.
Seriously, why would ANYONE be interested in this job? Being junior at FDX has to be one of the worst jobs in aviation. If you live in MEM, IND, OAK, or ANC I get it, but otherwise?
Choosing to commute to Reserve A has to be a form of masochism.

I started out on the feeders as a freight pup and know the system well. I enjoy flying cargo but just want an Airline with better long term prospects to retire at. I commute all the time on freighters getting in and out of MEM is easy.

Best rumor, intuition, reading the runes, etc. guess is contract around June, hiring second half of the year. We're already short, we've already set monthly back to back records for resignations, and a bunch of people are going to pull chocks when we get a new contract. The fact that we are not hiring or even announced that we plan to hire at this point is a little unnerving honestly. It just seems like if all that comes to fruition, we would be VERY VERY behind post-signing. Crossing our fingers that five seconds after we sign the company doesn't pull some S&*^ out of left field and make this place so much worse.
