There has never been a pilot shortage. Just a shortage of good jobs.

Looks like slow hiring for at least first part of 2013.

I'm thinking things could be very slow for a while until FedEx determines how the economy will be impacted by the "fiscal cliff."

I had this same issue, but is now fixed. Does anyone know if FedEx was unable to see our sponsors or is this just a viewing issue on our end?

I was told by my sponsor they (FedEx) could see it...it was just invisible to us for some reason.

Six new guys starting on 7 JAN. Looks like six is the magic number for a while.

Agree --- 6 per month until the Postal Contract is announced (late spring) and or the next big vacany bid closes (in Feb?) so they can determine if their are any projected "holes" they need to fill in any jet/domicile.

After that, it could grow back to 20 per month...or slightly higher if we retain 100% of the Postal Contract or the economy improves.

This is good info. Sounds very realistic. Hadn't heard this perspective previously. Pray for 20 a month.

Maybe in a fantasy world where the economy isn't in the dumper.
