I’m former EK and don’t really want to wait 3 more years to apply to FedEx.

I assume the requirement applies, but I’m just hoping there is a loophole.

Thanks
There is no longer a requirement to have resided in the US for the last 5 Years. Such requirement have been lifted.

Is the current pilot demand at FedEx primarily sourced from attrition or expansion? I am assuming that it's a bit of both, but was really wondering how much growth there actually is.

Thanks in advance.

Attrition mostly. We have been in the 4600 pilot range give or take a bit for awhile.

Management seldom shares manning info with the crew force.

Approximately 10 years ago we went from 3 pilot to 2 pilot airplanes so we needed fewer pilots. Then AGE 65 happened and almost no one retired for 5 years. Those folks that would have retired at 60 are finally starting to retire.

There are too many moving parts to answer your question. It's a good place to work (except for maybe the horrible hours!*?). Throw your hat in the ring ... good luck.

I think around 70% of the crew force retires in the next 10 years. Or 12 if the mandatory age is upped to 67

Let me go wash my mouth out with a revolver.

67 is coming, the train is already warming up to leave the station.

We will see about that. We might have to work until 67 if the union brain trust keeps trying to gack away our retirement.

I can confirm this, they finally called me(well emailed) for an interview when I've been overseas for the past 4 years. Had to tell them TBNT, they are too late.
