Pinning your hopes on improvements after the

It is interesting to me the perception that people have on others contracts. I think people do project other airlines contracts onto their own schedules, considering, "Hey, if I could have that retirement, that pay, and those work rules, I'd be thrilled." I don't think anyone can project themselves into the position of what we do.
However, one could easily project themselves into the nice, senior daytime flights, but it is an entirely different deal to do a week of night hub turns. Actually, sometimes I think I can't believe I'm getting paid to do this job, and other trips I think they can't pay me enough to do this ever again!

Maybe for extra sarcasm, you can try the triple sarcasm emoticon

Just like a FedEx pilot. Always thinking of your own emoticons, and not thinking of any others! Now I can't add any at all. (frowny whining face)

I've mentioned it before, but it doesn't seem to stick. We stay up all hours and fly some schedules that any other airline pilot would deem insane. A decent FDX line is a grievance at any other airline. I expect to be compensated accordingly. In other words, tougher work than Delta or American means more compensation. All of the above is true before you even start the discussion of revenue generation and productivity.

Months vs. Years
Makes as much sense as pinning your hopes on
a. Voting the TA down
b. Replacing the MEC members that voted for it
c. Replacing the Negotiating Committee
d. Informational picketing, attending stockholder meetings, media campaigns, strike vote
e. Going back into the same room, with the same company negotiators, and having them say, "Oh! We understand now! You guys are SERIOUS this time!" and upping their offer
f. The second TA making up for the lost months of 10% wage increase, 401k bump from the raise, the time value of money for however long it took items a-e to take place.....

So go talk to them. The ones I talked to think the TA does improve our contract. They can explain their own reasons. But like you, many of them did not come here at the start of their airline career race. Many have families. Many have been in this race for a long time. They've lived under some pretty lousy contracts. When they look at ours, they aren't feeling your pain.
So because you are used to working under lousy contracts we should just accept another lousy contract. Great logic, keep reaching for the stars Rock and setting the bar high for all of us.
