If we had a normal seniority list it would have DOH on it. Only at Fedex . Anyone know when 800-ish people were hired (or at least the junior 757 Captain on the bid)?

Thanks, but no. QOL for now. Maybe next year. Hard to give up a full month of day flying, albeit a VTO line but still. Going to 75 CA to night hub turn all month- meh, not so much. To each their own.

Jumping about 40% up the list. Wow. Even the dbag fake bidders can't manipulate the numbers that much.

So on the practice bid, the most junior captain is just below 4,000 seniority number....which is what, 2-3 years on the property? Anyone know? Not that the actual bid will go as scheduled, but it's always interesting.

As far as a curiosity, why would an MD-11 Capt bid 757 FO? Left the computer on and someone bid it for him? Trying to lower alimony payments?

My guess is guys just screwing with others. I've never understood why anyone would have a standing bid in for anything other than what they actually wanted. You can get a good enough idea of where you stand from the practice bids without actually bidding it. But if you forget to change your bid, you get what you bid, not very smart. I can understand some guys who aren't very senior capts bidding back to the left seat for QOL.

Maybe a pilot would downbid because they can hold hometown trips finally and wouldn't have wanted to fly that equipment until they could do so?

I know a captain that did this.... senior in the F/O seat, decided to bid captain in a practice bid to see where she would end up... then forgot to change it back.....

Let me rephrase this. Why would a senior MD-11 Captain bid a 757 fo seat, when they could be a senior 757 captain? Who takes a 200K+ paycut just to fly out of their hometown? Drop 80% of your trips, get one little double deadhead trip a month, make the same money.

And who screws around with the bid just because? Give me another reason.
