First year then more money comes in, preparing and budgeting helps. Any job takes working and starting at the bottom unless your parents on the darn thing.

I don't want to disappoint you, but I want you to be prepared as well too, I went into the school knowing about all the bad things that happened there, the only reason I'm still there is because it's cheap. So if you really want to hear about the bad things just to prepare yourself let me know I'll tell ya just so you can brace yourself.
Ive been grabbing my ankles for my local FBO for a long time and looking to move to ATP PHX. What kind of problems are you having?

I actually really don't want to say anything bad because I want to work there, but my philosophy is that as long as you have a good instructor, it doesn't matter where you do your training. I've had terrible instructors at a good school/well known school and great instructors at small/mom and pop schools. Make sure that when you go to ATP you get a good instructor and I think that will make all the difference. Keep in mind ATP is part 61 so all the instructor really has to do is show up for flights while you're suppose to teach yourself. So if you can find an instructor that comes on time, stays the full 8 hours, does regular ground training, and pushes you, you'll be fine. I'm actually trying to get over to ATP Pheonix to instruct, when are you heading over?

I wont be there until next summer...you might be already on your way to a regional job by the time I get there. I met a handful of guys from Hawaii over there...you should feel right at home. Do you already have your degree? I wish you the best of luck.

Aloha, JP

OMG, that sucks. I'm in DFW. I've been here almost 4 weeks now and have one, almost 2 checkrides under my belt. I ship off to CFI school in 6 more weeks. I start my xc's in 2 weeks....

Can you please share your experiences at ATP PHX from time to time. Are you doing the 90day career training?

Where are they putting you up? How soon before your start date did you find out? I'm driving down from Colorado so my drive isn't all that bad, but I want to stop in Tucson to see family first.

Side Note: Put my notice in yesterday at United and now counting the days until I start at ATP.

Its cool so far. Apartment is nice and complex is nice. Two beds a room with three rooms. But, nobody is ever home ie over at the airport or studying. So far so good, everyone is cool and there are adequate instructors per sudents. 95% on private written so off to a good start. Start flying on tues.
