Their only reaction at all was the bogus bonus contract.

It’s literally free money. I cannot see why anyone would say no to free money.

However, since you were at the company for a minute, you’d know this is just one effort. There have been other changes with the intended effect of slowing attrition. Overall, it’s underwhelming.

It's not free money, it's money in exchange for committing yourself to the company longer in a market where it really doesn't make sense to tie yourself down. It's an even worse deal for those about to upgrade to the jet because they'll take a pay cut after upgrade. There's a reason even some of the 8+ year people didn't sign.

It is free money. You misunderstood the contract. There is zero downside. You are not tied down to anything.

If you leave before the contract is up you have to repay the bonus. If you upgrade to the jet you're on a reduced pay scale until the contract runs out. That's not free money.

If you leave before the contract is up, you pay it back pro-rated. So it’s like a raise that you volunteer for. Free money.

If you upgrade to the jet, you will not take a pay cut. You will get what a jet pilot is paid minus the bonus. So then you add in the bonus and you get what a jet pilot would have been paid anyway. And before you upgrade, you are getting the bonus as a PC-12 Captain. Like a raise. Free money.

You and I will likely never agree on what "free" means.

When, typically, are the classes held? I confirmed with HR before accepting an invitation to interview that while they are looking for winter 2018 right now, I would be unavailable until May 2018. I was informed

You could begin the application process now, and then if you were offered a class date it can be at a later slot
However, I do know that they would not likely hold classes in the summer because that is the busy season. My hope was a class in early May as soon as I graduate, but I'm afraid of not getting one until next October or worse.

We will hold classes in the summer. Probably only one because it is busy as you mentioned.

Do you know when people interviewing in November could expect to have their class date? I know they've had delays before.
