Exactly. The major reason for the change. It was needed. Ovelall great place to be.

Got an offer from planesense and cape air. Debating between the two. I like the schedule for Cape 4/4 better than planesense 8/6 but I am more concerned about commuting. I live in central Florida and moving is not an option. Obviously would be commuting out of orlando for cape but could potentially get MCO as a base for planesense. Also does it look better to have the turbine single time or the multi piston time?
Thanks in advance

You would get an MCO base easily. On an 8/6 schedule with PlaneSense, you won’t be commuting on your days off. It could potentially make that 4/4 at cape look like a 5/3 or worse. If you choose Cape, move to your base since it will change every 6 months anyway. In today’s hiring environment, single turbine and multi piston will probably be viewed equally.

Absolutely! Day 1 and day 8 are airline days for FOs

Go where you can fulfill your contract the fastest.
If you don't live in a Cape base, Planesense likely has way better QOL, and _WAY_ better equipment. Can't even compare the PC12 to the rinkydink Cessnas.

Would only do Cape if I had the flow-through option to JetBlue or Spirit.

Most of the people applying for the DEC program come from an operator with a traditional licensed dispatch department. PSI doesn't have that. So from going from a place where all the paperwork and planning is done for you to a place where it's squarely on your shoulders and everything changes on the fly is a hard adjustment for most to make. typically is folks from a dispatched 135 or 121 operation so there is a learning curve. I will say however that a minority of DEC candidates have come through with high time but backgrounds that don't necessarily help with the DEC process. Flight school department heads, Cirrus taxi drivers, or other similar places and they think that this is some easy PC-12 gig. They did not respond to the wakeup call or pace of training.

The training is quality, and even they are disappointed in their $2mil procedures trainer, but I wouldn't go so far as to say that theres an issue with the training department. They're not a pilot mill and don't baby the cadidates coming in. If you cant hack it, you cant hack it.

Accurate statement no doubt!

Does PlaneSense ever go to any aviation career fairs or anything? Just seeing if there are opportunities to put a face with a name and speak to members of their team in person.
