Ok, thanks JMO! If thats the case, when I hit 750 should I reapply with the entire packet again? Or do I need to contact someone and let them know that I've hit the 750 mark and to update my pending application? Also any advice on the High Performance endorsement?

I was panicking when I couldn’t fine mine when I was prepping my package, then remembered an endorsement wasn’t required for HP prior to August 4, 1997 if you logged HP PIC prior to that date - phew.

Always hiring direct entry captains. the question is can the make it through training. Pass rate isn't exactly what I would call stellar. Being generous, maybe 1 in 6 IF that. More likely 1 in 8 or 9. The flying is the easy part. It's the company stuff that gets people. The FMS is foreign and currently the way it is taught isn't exactly easy to pick up. The 2M 'Sim" they have is more for procedures not exactly FMS related things. It's just a different operation. Most of the post airline guys crash and burn. It is what it is.

Because of the failure rate of direct entry Captains they’ve changed the program. When you start training you are paid as a Captain but you train initially as an FO and take an SIC check ride. You then go on full time status and do 3 rotations as an FO with an IP. After that you do what an FO who upgrades normally does. That is a week of upgrade ground training followed by 2 rotations in the left seat with an IP in the right. After that you go to Dallas for the simulator training and the check ride. Once the check ride is passed and you finish Captain IOE you no longer fly with IPs but you remain on full time status until you get 100 hours as Captain then a DEC will revert to part time. So including all the training you will be on full time status for about 6 months but you will be paid as a Captain the entire time.

Thanks for this! I like what I hear. I'm sure I don't make the cut for direct entry, but I figured I'd give it a try--I mostly want (need) the 8/6 schedule (family reasons). I'm at 1300TT, 1100MEL, 1180PIC, 100nt, 95instrument.
