I'm at a major now but worked for AirShare to get out of a dead end regional. For many it was a good in between before finding the retirement airline job.
That said I had many SICs say, "I see everyone leaving for 121, but I don't know that I want that. I really like flying corp jets!" To which I would always say don't go airlines! It's about what you want out of this career, not what everyone else is doing.
The airlines are hiring like crazy, so that means there are also a lot of really good corporate jobs out there. AirShare will give you good experience and a few type ratings to get you started. Personally I love 121, I'm all about it. But I knew many at AirShare that would hate everything about the airline life. There is no right or wrong, everyone's situation is different.
That said if you get on with 900 hours, don't whine when you can't upgrade for a couple years. Just due to the way airshare's business is set up you aren't going to fly 1000hrs a year, more like 400-500.

I see that Airshare’s website indicates that they might hire CFIs at 900 hours if they have a four year degree. Has anyone heard of somebody that’s actually been hired near that number?
Seems like a pretty attractive option for somebody who isn’t sure about the whole 121 thing. I wish they had some bases further out west.

We are currently full across the Fractional fleet with SIC's, and are done scheduling SIC interviews for 2018. If things remain constant (is that possible in aviation?) we will plan on resuming SIC interviews in late January or early February, as our main need is Phenom 100 PIC's @ MKC.
Thanks!

Managed Aircraft Pilot Openings
Hey there,
We are adding some aircraft to the Managed (more Part 91 than 135) wing of the organization. These aircraft are, primarily, one owner, so the job specifics are customized along with the schedule, benefits, pay, etc. I'm usually the Fractional pilot recruiter, but I'll try and answer as many questions as possible for our Managed friends down in TX. (These listings/details are on our website, www.flyairshare.com)
Current Openings in Fort Worth, TX (FTW):
Citation X PIC
Citation XLS PIC
Citation XLS SIC
King Air 350i PIC (x2)
Current Openings in Midland, TX (MAF):
Falcon 2000 - PIC
Falcon 2000 - SIC
LR-45 - PIC
LR-45 - SIC
Thanks!

I had done 121 before Airshare, and hated it. Living in airline terminals is miserable, working around people who aren't happy and don't really care about their jobs (a lot of FAs and airport staff) is annoying, staying in La Quinta type hotels gets really old, and I also have zero patience for the whole union thing. Bottom line is 121 just wasn't for me - others will have a completely different opinion.
What I really enjoyed about Airshare versus 121 is that your on the road quality of life at Airshare is about as good as you will find anywhere, short of some cushy 91 gig. You get rental cars on pretty much every layover, you get to choose your hotels (obviously within reason, but the lowest tier you'll ever see is Hampton/Courtyard and a very occasional Holiday Inn Express if that's the only thing in town), they give you a pretty good allowance for meals, and it's all on a company card so you don't have to worry about budgeting your per diem. They don't typically do crew meals, but they absolutely will if your schedule makes it necessary. Bottom line, while you're at work, you're pretty well taken care of, and that was very important to me.

Tyler,
What’s the status on the 350s and CJs? Also, all PICs are 8/6 now, right? Any news on the FO schedule? Does the published pay scale have an annual adjustment for inflation?
Thanks for keeping the thread updated.

I would be very interested in the 300 position if the 1hr of MKC rule wasn’t a hard rule. I live in southern Iowa, and currently work for a home based operation, but need to stay where I am family wise.
Sounds like a great organization though!
