I’m with PowerMan on the general theme of his post.
As far as I’m concerned, our initial ask from 2+ YEARS ago was barely acceptable 2 years ago. Sticking with it today—after several carriers have significantly upped the industry average—is completely unacceptable.
The worst part is that my understanding is that we’ve negotiated downward from the initial ask. No bueno.
The basic hourly rates we asked for 2+ years ago are now 20 to $25 under industry average. We’re not even asking for profit sharing. How much is profit sharing worth to Delta, WN, AA, etc. $20 to $40 per hour? Based on 1000 hours per year? How much will it cost me to buy industry standard OWN OCCUPATION disability insurance? My understanding is that we didn’t even ask for this.
Based on everything I’ve been able to glean from talking to P2P folks as well as communicating with members of the negotiating committee directly, I am almost certainly a no voter on the first TA.

Hey therapysession, we're going to need you do go ahead and forward those APC posts to the NMB, mmmkay? Ohhh yeah, and Simplicity is a little short out at DIA this weekend, so we're going to need you to go ahead and don the face mask and dump some lavs, mmmkay? Yeahhhhh, that'd be great, thanks.

I actually agree with Therapy. People, don’t be stupid. Work exactly how you’ve been working all along. Giving the company a good excuse for an injunction would slow the process down and be the dumbest thing in the world right now. Do all your venting on day 1 of a strike.

They sure did get in trouble... and how's that working out for them right now? I've never posted anything about "only fly the contract", so I'm not sure what you're talking about. Just making an observation about their situation, that's all.

The list of pros and cons in the company's proposal is too lopsided. The only good items are no PBS, standard trip rig, and premium folder. The rest is substandard and dated. The industry pattern is much higher now. We need to make that clear.
Send this to the membership, as is, so we can get the no vote back to the NMB before summer. It's the strongest bargaining position we can have going forward.
Because I am 100% confident we aren't getting released.

I don't think "flying the contract" got them in trouble. ....... it was a concerted effort to break "status qou"

How many people does it take to be concerted? Even during the breakdown I think most people were still picking up open time. Having said that, I also think without the TRO we would have a better contract.

Sure, our current contract is better than yours, I do think you should not have to settle for what we got, especially since we had a TRO and you have management proven to be negotiating in bad faith.
