We were only supposed to hire around 250ish pilots this year so I expect around a 3-4 month hiring pause during the summer.
I agree. Plus I heard we aren't getting any of them. Someone else was probably willing to pay more than us

Training departments are always involved in the staffing projections and aircraft orders affect staffing, especially when you’re already in high growth mode. It’s very feasible training advised upper management that resources were going to be running close to max with the existing delivery schedule.

A week ago the word was some were still on the table. Like a kids’ game of “telephone” each set of ears hears something different.

We are not getting any of the TC aircraft, hiring 400 this year according to the DO.

Love it. We aren't getting any additional airplanes so they increase the hiring numbers dramatically. It was 250 newhires and has been consistently that for a while. How recently did he say that?

Something doesn’t add up...at our current staffing 15 net airplanes is a lot closer to 250 pilots than 400.

That's what the man said. 400 pilots this year.

Perhaps the A319s are sticking around? Nice to have narrow runway performance...

Yes something doesn’t add up for sure. We would have to be getting way more planes this year for that number to be accurate. I think the likely case is we’re not really going to hire 400.

maybe the realized that running out of reserves when the weather gets bad is not a good thing for business. They have us so thin it’s good for making money, horrible for completing flights.
