Frontier gives you your choice of a parking pass in base or $36(?) - which is what I believe it costs to park in DEN. I commute so I use the Parking HSA to pay for my parking at home and then have an airport car in base which I use the company provided parking pass for. HSA Bank sends you a credit card that you can use to pay for parking where you choose unless you park at a hotel or something, then you have to upload the receipts into the app and they send you a check or direct deposit to your bank account. LAS parking is in the garage attached to the terminal and you can walk to the airplane in minutes if you are going to the E Gates, it's the best setup in the system. They give a ticket for parking over two weeks straight and have license plate readers, I haven't gotten that ticket yet but it's only a matter of time... Denver has Airside and Landside, I'm not sure what's happening with all that at the moment but on the airside you clear TSA and then the buses take you straight to the terminal which - if that hasn't changed - is pretty dang cool. ATL was a disaster with Peachy Parking, but that has changed and hopefully for the better. MIA is a massive parking lot that floods in some places so watch out, park on high ground. The buses are pretty regular but can get pretty full at shift change. You have to get a parking sticker in MIA and they fine you if your car has been in the same spot for something like two weeks, maybe three. It's a $36 ticket for that infraction. That's what I know, if I've posted old info some please set it straight. Welcome to Frontier and thanks for the post about Brad's delusion. It's always interesting to hear what they are telling our new pilots as well as those in recurrent training.
That LAS parking sounds ridiculous, but unfortunately not a stranger to that after dealing with PHX parking for years. Using exclusive employee lots, which are never even remotely near limits, they just decided (out of the blue) to start issuing fines for parking more than 4 days. God forbid you get extended to a day off on a 4 day; called out on a 5-6 day out of base reserve assignment; etc. It was a whole thing for a while, to the point where company legal said don’t even reply to them, we’ll handle it. They ran home like a schoolyard bully, still having to get the last word and emphasizing the looming threat of fine/tow. They even went so far as to say being gone while attending recurrent wasn’t “directly supporting the blah blah blah business of Sky Harbor” so watch out. I’d see them out there all the time. Crawling around to read plates of cars that back into spots, and also ripping the car covers off (the ones people put to keep the sun, rain, and dust off their cars esp in the summer) to check plates, lazily leaving them to flap around attached to one bumper. Terrible parking office.

I set up the parking FSA but with $0 for now. I’ll collect the $36/month and use it to help offset parking a little bit for stuff like IOE, hoping for a transfer home by the time/shortly after hitting the line. If not, I’ll start deducting into the FSA for commuter parking. Right now I’m in the conundrum where LAS is a 5hr drive or 1hr flight, which is why I’m hoping I get PHX this next cycle and maybe don’t have to deal with the commute more than a month.

//////// NEW HIRES THIS IS IMPORTANT\\\\\\\ Make your parking election BEFORE THE DATE LISTED ON THE BASE AWARD! If you don't the company will say tough titty and you will be SOL and paying for your own parking. The only remedy is to transfer out and then back into your base if you miss the drop dead date. This has really screwed so many pilots, it should be another thing "fixed in the next contract". The election is made on a form in the Ipad. If you can't find it and nobody else will help PM me or anyone on this forum and we'll set you straight. I'd hate to see anyone f'd over this stupid bear trap.
I hate to hear this is your first experience with Frontier. The pilots here are great but unfortunately this is the ugly truth to the real operation. We have seen a lot of great pilots come in and out of the door over the last year over things like this. It’s things like this that make new pilots think… is this the company I really want to spend 30plus years at?
