January smaller class size is to help get caught up on a bit of a training backlog. LCA resignations have pushed the IOE wait time out and it has taken time to hire new LCAs to cover.

If that’s true then that’s even worse. Another damning case of stepping over dollars to chase pennies.

From what I understand there were multiple resignations in a short period of time, leaving a bit of a hole. I believe they have been filling the hole in again but it requires training to become a LCA, it's not an instantaneous thing. How much interest there has been for CA to become LCA, I don't know. Probably not as much as there could be if conditions were different, I'll leave it at that.

I know at DL guys with June and July interviews are just hitting classes in the past couple weeks. Not sure at the other majors, but would assume something similar. I hope the resignation letters start piling up again.

For sure. And AA was backed up at the end of ‘22 so they played some catch up from what I heard. Delayed that start of a month or two worth of classes or something of the sort. I don’t work there…could be bad info.

They also have lost a good amount of flexibility with their schedules. They now have a very small window to adjust their schedules, then they are locked in for the month. 😞
