Hiring / training
#3451
Does anyone know or has anyone calculated how many we actually need to net each month/year to keep up with orders? The reason I ask is that I was told by someone with an office-type position within the training department that we are netting 25 to 30 per month after attrition and that upper management is satisfied that this is adequate. Just trying to assemble the puzzle pieces in hopes of a more accurate picture.
Someone has done the math on here, buried in some thread, that per current numbers and likely trends, we're fully staffed for the next 18 months or so. By that logic the company won't get serious about negotiating for another 36 months!

I assumed because it’s right in the middle of the holidays. Friend got offered this class or January. Yeah he’ll lose one month of seniority but whatever, they went with Jan. Any other month it wouldn’t matter, starting at the end of a month. But Dec 27 is more like the day you want to start a Christmas vacation, not fly across the country to start a new job all alone.

Bunch of people are waiting on class dates, ask me how i know. So the staffing today won't be same as 6/12/18 months

A guy I flew with was quite a bit was sick of endless CA reserve and no calls. Went to spirit and was probably on IOE around this time a year ago. He already had a Legacy class date before his IOE was scheduled. Sounds crazy to hire 120 and net 40, but then I think back to that guy and it makes sense.
