ClearCreek, I don't pretend to know what you've gone through at F9 to say those things. And I'm sure you have legitimate grievances with the company to be saying that.

But frankly my biggest metrics for judging an airline over the long term is: money, time off, and benefits. Sure there's dozens of other things I'm thinking about (commuting, upgrade, growth, stability, satisfaction, etc.). And I don't doubt that some/all of those things are better elsewhere. Maybe. Maybe not.

But are those things truly that awful at F9? Honest question. Thank you.

Looks like clear creek is a Ual pilot now. He’s furlough fodder for the next few years looking to justify his decision. I wouldn’t look to him for any guidance as he’s not working under our current agreement. Probably why he has no clue. One word. Calculator. From what you have disclosed sounds like your 35. I get it, at that age it’s close. I can tell you that at 40 for me it was 4.5 million to stay at f9 and 5.5 million to leave to a legacy. I tried HARD to bolt (different time, think relative seniority list with RAH). Now at 46 years old and a new contract it’s a no brainer to stay at f9. We’re talking millions which is why that calculator is such a useful tool. As far as the calculator, if f9 new agreement isn’t available yet use nk. Basically same economic value.

Absolutely not. This is a good job. 95% of the people are a joy to fly with. Most of the planes are brand new. We are growing and doing well. The new contract is pretty darn good. Im happy here.

You either don’t work here, or are the most miserable and bitter person around. Such BS. Does this place have some issues? Sure. But by and large, it is a great job.

Why such a radical change from what all the frontier pilots were posting less than a year ago?

A decent contract can change a lot of things. Paycheck change a lot of attitudes. Also the co tract we have is here for 4 more years, may as well work with it because nothing is changing till then.

Honestly, it's more than just the fact that we got our contact. The company is treating us better. They aren't hassling us over sick time usage or any of the other BS stuff that was going on.

The airline is still the same, but there is no longer any hostility coming down from management. And I really don't think many guys have put much thought to that yet. The moral on the line is quite good right now.

Wait a couple of years. We had a year or so honeymoon at G4 after our contract but thats all over now. Payroll and scheduling ignoring our contract. Hassling us over sick time usage. Fly now grieve later for everything. Literally hundreds of backlog grievances from this year alone. Ignoring their side letter to negotiate a transparent PBS system and taking the union to court. Good times.

I know it might not seem like it but having a bunch of grievances is a good thing. Without that you will eventually lose the language (that happened here under our last agreement when indigo took over). I’m not saying the honeymoon won’t ever end, thats yet to be determined ? As far as our pbs side letter. There’s language that takes us to expedited binding arbitration and we named the arbitrator. I can’t see this negotiation taking forever (slightly longer than the timeline outlined in the letter would be my guess) or not working the way it’s structured. They need it more than we do.
