I think F9 needs to come to terms with the reality of the training depts pass/fail rate at check ride and the # of people that leave before even getting to the check ride. Some leave before the ride and more fail the ride and continue to stay on. So failing the ride doesn’t mean no job….and someone leaving before the ride should be considered the same as a fail. Assets invested outcome not as expected.

Pilot retention is going to become more difficult as candidates start to learn that we are approaching or have crossed the 50% mark of seniority for F9’s projected hiring in the coming years. It’s easier to sell seniority over pay when you’re selling fast upgrades and quick relative seniority. But the ships leaving the station and I think we see a lot more stepping stone/place filler guys in the coming years.

Airbus says they plan on increasing from 45 to 63 aircraft per month in 2023.

But ya, I can see still taking a new aircraft every 20ish days but keeping them on property a little longer. But Airbus seems to have the capacity to roll a lot out if needed.

6 years ago there was 300+ crews in Denver and now there is 180 or so. Upgrade definitely won't get any shorter.

Not to be Debbie downer but they love orders... and also returns. Its like when they announce 27 new routes but not the 22 route cancellations. If they were that serious about growth we wouldn't be returning so many relatively middle aged planes.

They haven’t once hit their growth targets in my 7 plus years here, even pre-covid. As a new hire I definitely would not be counting on additional orders in the future. Don’t get me wrong, Frontier has grown incredibly quickly since 2013 but anyone getting hired from now on is going to be on the wrong side of the growth wave. Not saying this is a bad place to work but the number one reason (rapid growth) most people had for choosing Frontier is slowly going away. Hiring 200 pilots in a year 5 years ago was a big deal. Now, not so much. That combined with the relatively small amount of age 65 retirements in the next decade make jumping ship as a new hire or with less than a few years on property a no brainer unless you live in base and have no desire to move.
