Bid is out and has 30 upgrades. PHX grows 20-25%

Last rumor I heard was 30 per month for the foreseeable future. Buckle up!

For an upcoming November hire, If said person didn’t get PHX, how often do base bids occur to try and get a transfer to PHX?

Every month for the foreseeable future. If we stop hiring all of the sudden we have a quarterly base trade as well.

Are people getting PHX out of training?

Some have. It's still building up with no idea what the plan is for how large. Bids are for 3 months in the future. So this Octobers vacancy bid is for base transfer effective Feb 1 for example.

Warning on all of this, MIA was being built up but now cut in 1/2 - so things are very dynamic at F9.

So people got displaced out of MIA?

yup, guy I know moved from LAS to upgrade in MIA. Bought a house, lived in it for a month and got displaced to mco. Awful, and shows the companies lack of regard and direction.

Yes 30ish out of 60ish. The only saving grace there was that it was easily the most junior base at the time so the vast majority were looking to leave anyway. Still, not exactly what you want to see.

How often has this happened?

We had the Chicago base closure and then with PHX opening MIA and DEN shrank a bit. I don’t recall seeing any bases shrink when ATL opened. It’s uncommon but certainly caught every bodies attention and makes you think twice about getting comfortable at the bottom of any base in any position. There was a proper way to handle it if management knew that was coming and they didn’t do it.
