This is one of the most ridiculous apc post I’ve ever seen..and that’s saying a lot.

I don’t think they mean getting caught up in the tie mess, just getting caught up working under that type of person.

The Denver chief pilot has an interesting… ummm… personality. I also have no doubt that she tries to bully the new hire classes over ties. But the reality is that she seems to be a lot more bark than bite. I’ve heard of a lot of discipline issues here, but I don’t think I’ve ever heard of one that was successfully initiated by her. Someone who is Denver based would be able to give more details on that.

Truthfully, any interactions I’ve personally ever had with her have been fine. Snarky personality for sure, but she is who she is. If you come do work, do your job, don’t call in excessively, and don’t make a name for yourself you will be fine. I’ve made some questionable sick calls in my years here. One of them over a holiday and a week later followed by a covid callout. All during this he time period that got people section 19

Agreed, just wanted to make sure I was following what the heck was going on in this thread after it drifted away from the original topic...one employee won't stop me from applying.

That's the plan - I couldn't care less about the tie or its color.

I appreciate the info. Sounds like she's a ball of fun.

Oops, I never finished that post and apparently it ended up posting. Got distracted in the middle of it by the kids arguing.

What I was going to say was that despite questionable sick calls (which I was never asked about) followed nearly immediately by covid leave I was never asked about any of it, nor was I subject to a section 19. There’s always more to the story of most disciplinary things you hear about this place. That goes for the DEN chief as well. Being professional, respectful, and just keeping your head down always makes things easier….Life taught me that. If a woman (in this case the DEN chief) says something to you in a way you don’t like, it’s best to not engage and just let it roll off your back… Marriage taught me that.

Im not sure why she chooses to rule the way she does, but I do believe she’s harmless for the most part unless you actually do something deserving.

In the new Pilot Handbook there was an attempt by the smarter ones in the training dept. to put a 1000 hour requirement before upgrade. That was a whittled down to 500 hours, with an exception on a case-by-case basis. Then the CP office axed the requirement completely.

I was told it was because they they would not have enough upgrade candidates that met the minimum.
However
I figured it was because none of them met the requirements.

The pilot handbook thing is ridiculous, in the end we have a CBA anyhow. But we are running over a three year upgrade, im
guessing it doesn’t get much lower than that. This is the least of our concerns, although still beyond comprehension

Did a pc with another captain 2 years ago. He had less than 500 hrs total in the airplane. Sat res for a few years as an Fo and never flew. It showed.

must have been ORD based? Most reserves are relatively busy in most bases.

Same here… thinking about putting an app in, but besides all the tie nonsense (which I don’t really care much about), I’ve read some concerning stuff on here. Of course, pilots are any airline are gonna complain, but is Frontier actually a good place to set roots? Is the company really just that aggressive towards its work group all the time?
