I think the $2.80 range would equal our cash-on-hand. Wall Street doesn’t have faith in the management, or possibly the business model.

The business model works... Management doesn't. I hope we see either great changes in attitude and ideas soon, or new management.

Exactly.

There's absolutely no reason ULCC can't be very successful. Been proven all over the world. But you have to actually run the place halfway well

Given the trueness of this statement, something doesn't add up. Why would BB, who KNOWS the model, do this poorly? How/why would he allow this to happen?

Airlines are either growing or shrinking - it's almost impossible to maintain status quo (replace retirement and attrition with just enough hiring). In actuality, we are the closest thing to that very thing (stagnation) right now and have seen what it can do (CAs leaving, mass turnover in FOs, dissatisfaction in many of the workgroups, etc.). So, why order a whole bunch of planes but then sh!t the bed on the rest of the growth plans...

Incompetence? Indifference? Even purposeful?

Incompetence. That's it.

They are just too focused on the cost structure and let too many things fall below par. Running an airline is hard, and Biffle isn't the best so you get what we got. I think he's basically done just well enough to not get replaced.

Let's not forget though, the airline was decently profitable in the last quarter. $88 million in profits and over $700 million in the bank. Things aren't exactly a disaster here. And the airline has grown tremendously under Biffle.

Certainly true but the updated report shows a loss of 40-70M (-4 to -7% margin) coming our way for this quarter. Tried to find a confirmation link but my google fung-shu is failing right now.

Yeah.

Q3 is always rough though. It's the lowest travel demand of the year. Prior to Indigo owning Frontier, Frontier never once turned a profit in Q3.

We won't this year, that's for sure. But we did in Q2 and we will in Q4

When I was in systems late last year there was a big celebration that we just passed 2,000 pilots. I remember it very clearly. Where are we now? 2,000 pilots. Hundreds of pilots churned through training since then just to stay at the exact same number. What a colossal goat rope and waste of training resources. I can’t imagine a very high morale in the training department knowing your efforts are being used as a bilge pump that’s just barely keeping up. They are reducing the number of pilots per class because of an overloaded training department. So, we can expect to go below 2,000 pilots. Simply unacceptable. Leadership has to change.
