Frontier released Form 8-K today. As many probably expected bigger than expected losses to -5% predicted and Q2 capacity will be driven down. Reductions mostly on off peak days (Tuesday, Wednesday, Saturday). Also, “The company is unable to reaffirm full-year 2025 guidance due to the uncertain environment.”
May 1 is Q1 earnings report.

I can’t wait to see him on msnbc explaining this. “The bear paws and section 19 calls cost more than anticipated”. We also added a couple of first class seats to really try and polish this turd of an airline.

What a mess. Literally everything is going as badly as possible for our contract negotiations.
Merger announced and we look forward to JCBA! - JetBlue says hold my beer
Attrition is going ballistic! They won’t be able to staff - we’ve lost 2 this month
Massive growth projected! - change our order book timeline and say it’s “just aligning with Airbus delays”
Not amazing growth like it was but still good growth! - capacity cuts hit and we are able to fly from originally 15+ pilots per plane to less than 14
Finally back to making real money! - Tarrifs destroy airline profitability. Further capacity cuts expected during the busiest and most profitable summer months.
What did I miss?

So much winning! Don’t expect consumer confidence to increase until volatility gets back to somewhere near normal. It surely will not help contract negotiations.

I’ve been wrong so many times. But if both spirit and frontier are struggling, and spirit refuses to die, or at least continues to eat into frontiers profits and frontier does the same to spirit…I’d have to imagine they will almost be forced to merge to survive this upcoming economic downturn.
I do wonder with the halting of FA classes and cancelation of pilot interviews along with Ted/Matt leaving spirit abruptly if we are going to hear something soon.
I just want to get it over with so we have a better view of what happens over the next year…
