It’s not the contract that’s killing them brother. They have much much deeper issues. Just put the phone down and watch the news.

Right. The pilots pay isn't their biggest issue. Not even close. I think they have almost 60 airplanes out of service. That's maybe as much as $25 million a month in cost with zero revenue from those planes. Devastating.

The $40/ hour pilot pay difference isn't even on the radar of the people trying to figure out what to do. They have a ton of leased aircraft just sitting around waiting on engine swaps costing them a half million a month per airframe.
It's a catastrophic bloodbath over there. They aren't going to pull off some crazy merger deal with the bloodbath company buying the successful one just to try to save a few bucks on expired pilot contracts.
We aren't that important

So they beat Spirit up and reduce costs. If there is a transaction, we will be negotiating a JCBA, so what's the upside?

Any substantial delay will roll us into the next legacy contract cycle. Franke doesn’t want that. He’s happy with us being polar opposite. Whatever happens with Spirit (merger, Indigo partner acquisition, liquidation, etc.) won’t have any bearing on our negotiations. I predict we’ll have a TA pretty close to their openers. After that management will worry about a JCBA.
